Musikalischer Sommerabend ~ Genießen & Entspannen

„2“ Musiker, Michael Vogt und Peter Walpurgis, mit ähnlicher Historie, vielen Gemeinsamkeiten und doch divergenten Musikvorstellungen treffen hier aufeinander. Das Programm, das ausschließlich aus Eigenkompositionen besteht, lebt von seinen Gegensätzen und Reibungen. Die beiden Charaktere polarisieren, sind Programm und liefern deshalb den Nährboden für musikalische Innovation, Vielfalt und Weiterentwicklung. „Contrast“ verbindet und kreiert gleichzeitig musikalischen Freiraum.

Während ihrer gemeinsamen Studienzeit für klassische Gitarre an der Folkwang Musikhochschule, wurden die ersten musikalischen Schnittmengen gebildet. Beide Musiker sind mittlerweile, auf Grund der vielen Soundmöglichkeiten, mit der E-Gitarre unterwegs und haben sich den verschiedensten Stilrichtungen von Jazz, Worldmusic, Ambient, Funk bis Pop zugewandt. Fernab vom Mainstream werden Grenzen neu erspielt, Ideen – noch so gewagt – zugelassen. Jede Komposition zelebriert ihre eigene Atmosphäre, nimmt mit auf die Reise und hinterlässt Spuren. Ihre erste CD „Timeless“ erschien im Jahr 2023.

Ein Gitarrenduo der besonderen Art – anders, eigenwillig, voller Überraschungen und mit viel Liebe zur Musik.

2018 erhielt Contrast2 drei Preise beim Deutschen Rock und Pop Preis:
1. Preis für die beste Instrumentalband
2. Preis für die beste Experimentalband
3. Preis für die beste Filmmusik

AUSGERUFEN (bezieht sich auf die Kunst der Marktschreier) ist die Konzertreihe im Das PLUS am Neumarkt. Vorwiegend hausgemachte, handgefertigte Musik mit ehrlichen Texten, die das Leben inspiriert. Das Konzept der Hutveranstaltung soll die einbeziehen, die sich Kulturerlebnisse nicht, oder nur unter Problemen leisten können. Die, die es sich leisten können, geben dafür ein wenig mehr, um die Wertschätzung für die künstlerische Leistung zu würdigen.

Musical summer evening ~ Enjoy & relax

"2" musicians, Michael Vogt and Peter Walpurgis, with similar histories, many similarities and yet divergent musical ideas meet here. The programme, which consists exclusively of original compositions, thrives on its contrasts and frictions. The two characters polarise, are the programme and therefore provide the breeding ground for musical innovation, diversity and further development. "Contrast" connects and at the same time creates musical freedom.

During their time studying classical guitar together at Folkwang Musikhochschule, the first musical intersections were formed. Due to the many sound possibilities, both musicians are now travelling with the electric guitar and have turned to a wide variety of styles from jazz, world music, ambient, funk to pop. Far away from the mainstream, they push the boundaries and allow ideas - no matter how daring. Each composition celebrates its own atmosphere, takes you on a journey and leaves its mark. Their first CD "Timeless" was released in 2023.

A guitar duo of a special kind - different, idiosyncratic, full of surprises and with a great love of music.

In 2018, Contrast2 won three prizes at the German Rock and Pop Awards:

AUSGERUFEN ("called out" refers to the people selling their goods on the market right outside our shop two times a week, sometimes addressing the customers with shouts) is the concert series at Das PLUS am Neumarkt. Mainly home-made, handcrafted music with honest lyrics that are inspired by life itself. The concept of the hat event is intended to include those who cannot afford cultural experiences or can only afford them with difficulties. Those who can afford it pay a little more to honour the appreciation of the artistic performance.
