Zumindest heißt sein aktueller Roman so, den er mit nach Duisburg bringt. Mit dem Fund einer Wasserleiche beginnt für CN ein neues Leben. Er begegnet unerwartet neuen Freunden und alten Dämonen. Als sich herausstellt, dass die Tote aus der Ruhr die vergessen geglaubte Jugendliebe aus der Schulzeit in den Achtzigern in Nordfriesland ist, ziehen ihn die Ereignisse in einen Mahlstrom der Erinnerungen und Gefühle, den die neuen Freunden ins Irrsinnige beschleunigen. Bedroht vom Untergang schwimmt er weiter. Elbaufwärts über die Ruhr.

"Upstream on the Elbe, the Ruhr flows into the Spree at low tide," claims Essen-based author Huug van't Hoff.

At least that's the name of his latest novel, which he is bringing with him to Duisburg. A new life begins for CN when a corpse is found in the water. He unexpectedly encounters new friends and old demons. When it turns out that the dead woman from the Ruhr is his childhood sweetheart from his school days in North Friesland in the 1980s, events draw him into a maelstrom of memories and feelings that his new friends accelerate into madness. Threatened with ruin, he swims on. Up the Elbe across the Ruhr.
